A feature familiar from watchOS, which was introduced in iOS 16, gives the Lock Screen wallpaper more depth. It creates a three-dimensional wallpaper by positioning the chosen image’s foreground in front of the present time. On iOS 14 and 17, the Exiwall tweak accomplishes the same thing. With the most recent update, the tweak is now compatible with jailbreaks for Fugu15 Max and Dopamine.
About Exiwall
With the jailbreak tweak Exiwall, iOS 14 and iOS 15 get a new and exciting feature. It makes the Lock Screen of iOS 14 look like the iOS 16 wallpaper with a depth effect. You can add a portion of your subject to the wallpaper above the time and date using Exiwall Tweak to create depth effect wallpapers.
For iOS 16, depth effect wallpapers are only available on the iPhone XS and later models (A12+), but you can get around this on previous iPhones by using the Exiwall tweak. Once again, jailbreaking claims that new capabilities like these are not hardware-bound but rather are constrained only by Apple’s desires.
You can enable the Exiwall tweak and respring your iDevice from a new dedicated preference pane in the Settings app once it’s installed. This tweak is only compatible with iOS 14.0–14.8.1 and is therefore only usable on iPhone 6s and later models; it will not function on iPads. Support for Palera1n Jailbreak on iOS 15 (up to iOS 15.7.1) is now included in the most recent version of the tweak as well.
The Exiwall tweak adds a depth effect to your Lock Screen by analyzing your device with advanced machine-learning algorithms. Images featuring large, bright subjects against contrasting backdrops tend to turn out the best. Photos with low light, graininess, or lack of contrast may not turn out well. Here we are not talking about a tweak for the Lock Screen.
Keep in mind that the perspective zoom feature—which allows the wallpaper to move when the device is tilted—is incompatible with wallpapers created by Exiwall. You can only use photographs in portrait mode, and it won’t support video backgrounds. All the latest jailbreaks for iOS 14 are compatible with it.
You may customize your Lock Screen with a variety of changes, including Exiwall, Kalm, Quart, WeatherLS, SimpleTime, Fabric 2, Complications, Watermelon, Axon, Analog, Diary, and DualClock 2. It’s not 100% compatible, but it’s close. Not compatible with LockPlus, Xen HTML, Vartaman, Ventana, or Helix.
If you want to use Exiwall as your wallpaper, you can only do so over the date/time view. Regardless of the wallpaper subject, other objects such as complications, widgets, lock icons, and battery charging indicators will always show up above it. The creators of PortraitXI, Foxfort Mobile, also published Exiwall.
Just enable the tweak in the new pane in the Settings app to change the wallpaper. Choose a solid background after that by going to Wallpapers. With Exiwall, you can create a wallpaper with depth. To achieve the desired effect for the Lock Screen backdrop, you can freely scale and position it.
For iOS 14, this is your only option for enabling a depth effect on the 3D foreground lock screen. It’s a great alternative to the depth effect wallpaper in iOS 16, which is available on some older devices. One of my nieces’ lock screen changes for iOS 14 and iOS 15 is Exiwall.
With the latest version of the Exiwall tweak, you can now jailbreak with Dopamine and try out a new animation for the Lock Screen swipe in iOS 15. Please only use this function if you are having animation issues when dismissing the Lock Screen. It is specifically developed for that purpose.
Exiwall has been compatible with the newest iOS 15 jailbreak, XinaA15, since version 1.1. This jailbreak is compatible with devices powered by A12–A15 CPUs. The Exiwall tweak is now compatible with iOS 15.0 through iOS 15.1.1 on the iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 running iOS 15.
